The society set up to promote the work of Alfred Wainwright, writer of the authoritative Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells. There is also an excellent discussion forum.

Striding Edge- a photo diary of Lake District Walks By Sean McMahon

Lake District National Park Authority

Information about England's largest National Park includes Scafell Pike - its highest mountain, Wastwater - its deepest lake and thriving communities like Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere.
