Scafell Pike Weather

Scafell Pike is located in the South Western quarter of the Lake District, about 12 miles inland from Irish Sea coast. I have included three of the closest BBC weather feeds to Scafell Pike. These are Whitehaven (located 16 miles North-West of Scafell Pike), Keswick (10 miles North-East), and Kendal (20 miles South East). The weather in the Lake District can be very localised, and subject to dramatic changes within short periods of time. This certainly applies to the Scafell Pike area - the surrounding valleys may each have their own unique weather which can change very quickly. It is worth bearing in mind, however, that the rain tends to come in from Irish Sea to the west, with Scafell Pike being one of the first fells in line. It is also important to realise that the temperature on Scafell Pike summit will be much lower than those indicated in the feeds (which are taken at ground level). So please be prepared.
